L-R: Liz Bryan, Advanced Social Worker, and Sarah Forrest, Principal Social Worker
We’re pleased to announce the next winner of our regional CSWM award: Liz Bryan from East Riding of Yorkshire Council!
Liz’s nomination showed great advocating for the children and families she works with, which is reflected in the outstanding feedback received from her families. Her written outputs are frequently used as examples of best practice within East Riding. Liz has achieved positive outcomes in some complex cases due to her excellent network safety planning and was highly commended by the judge in these proceedings.
Further to this great achievement, Liz’s certificate was aptly presented on Work Social Work Day!
Our judging panel from York shared what led to their decision:
We were both really impressed by Liz’s ability to bring together a complex family network and support the child to remain safely within their family unit. We appreciate that this will have involved significant challenges and moments of uncertainty, yet her commitment to maintaining a clear, child‑focused approach throughout was evident. There is undoubtedly valuable learning to be taken from her practice, and we hope this can be shared more widely.

Congratulations, Liz!
