April’s CSWM Award winner has been announced! Our judging panel from Barnsley selected Leanne Rosa from Doncaster as this month’s winner because of her child and young person-centred approach to practice.

“Highlighted in the nomination was her advocacy, relationship building and commitment to improving the life chances of vulnerable children, even in challenging circumstances and her approach in supporting young people to be actively involved in the decision-making process.  Leanne’s ability to capture this on the child’s record was also commended. Well done, Leanne!”

On presenting this award, Suzanne Whiteley, Head of Children in Care Services, said:

“It was an absolute pleasure to surprise Leanne with this award, whose dedication makes her a fantastic advocate for the young people she supports. The implicit trust they have in her and the value they find in her support are a testament to her incredible work. A huge congratulations to Leanne from everyone at Doncaster Council, we are immensely proud of Leanne and all she has accomplished; we are truly lucky to have her as part of our team.”

The CSWM Awards are our monthly award which celebrates social workers who go above and beyond. Each of our partner local authorities and adoption agencies can make one nomination per month. The winner is picked by our guest judges - senior colleagues from different local authorities.
