Congratulations to the latest recipient of the regional Social Work award – Michaela Tataryn from North Lincolnshire Council!

Michaela was nominated by colleagues for her extensive career of providing consistent and long-standing support for children and families. She has been recognised as going above and beyond for children and her strength in relational social work.

Our judging panel from Hull, provided the following rationale for their winning selection:

“Michaela’s remarkable 25-year career in the public sector, dedicated entirely to North Lincolnshire, stands as a testament to her unwavering commitment and compassion. Her nomination radiates kindness, empathy, and an extraordinary sense of purpose in her role within the adoption team. Michaela champions a true ‘whole family approach,’ ensuring that children maintain lifelong connections while parents receive trauma-informed support through the innovative ‘Holding On Project.’

Her selflessness and dedication shine through every interaction. Michaela has built deep, trusting relationships with children, young people, and families, many of whom have gone out of their way to express heartfelt gratitude for the impact she has made. She navigates the complexities of loss and separation with profound understanding, using her expertise to help countless children and adults heal and thrive. Michaela is not just a practitioner; she is a beacon of hope and resilience for those she serves and she rightly deserves this recognition.”
