ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Adoption Social Worker to join the One Adoption South Yorkshire Regional Adoption Agency in Rotherham. You will be responsible for recruiting, assessing, training and supporting adopters who can meet the needs of children with an adoption plan. As part of your role you will also be an Early Permanence Champion which includes monitoring unborn’s and considering if EPP would be appropriate. You will be working with colleagues who are passionate about achieving the best outcomes for children in a Team of enthusiastic and committed workers.
The Regional Adoption Agency’s focus is on:
Recruiting and assessing adopters for children when the plan is permanency through adoption.
An opportunity to be involved in developing recruitment, assessment, preparation and support of adopters within the Regional Adoption Agency.
Working with colleagues across the RAA to achieve timely adoption placement.
Promoting Early Permanence for children whose plan is adoption to ensure children are placed in adoption placements at the earliest opportunity and promote EPP within the recruitment of adopters.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker to join the Adoption Team based in Rotherham.
You will have a sound knowledge of Child Care and Adoption legislation and have three years post qualifying experience, including experience of Adoption work to meet the Adoption Regulations criteria for preparation of Adoption reports.
You will possess a social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England
You will be able to work with others to develop practice across One Adoption South Yorkshire
You will have good assessment skills and the ability to present information to a variety of audiences in written and verbal form.
You will be passionate about maximising a child’s life chances and securing permanence at the earliest opportunity.
