The Role:
As an Advanced Social Work Practitioner within the Childrens Assessment Service, you will play a pivotal role in advocating for the children and young people of East Riding. You will be instrumental in creating an environment that supports and enables relational practice, bringing creative and innovative ways of working. You will complete holistic assessments and collaborate with partner agencies and family networks, ensuring children and young people are at the heart of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building relationships and engaging with children and families.
- Conducting assessments of complex circumstances, applying high level analysis and evaluation skills to understand the needs of children and their families.
- Applying an in-depth understanding of thresholds and knowledge of key policies, legislation and childrens social care reform.
- Maintaining timely and accurate records in accordance with practice standards.
- Co-creating and implementing support plans with children and families based on their individual needs.
- Regularly reviewing of plans to reflect any changes in the childs or families situation.
- Collaborating with partner agencies to understand the childs lived experience.
- Advocating for children and families, ensuring their voice is heard and rights protected.
- Prioritising work based on the needs and risks to children and young people.
- Accountability and responsibility of work undertaken and engaging in regular reflective supervision.
- Providing practice leadership, mentoring, and supporting less experienced staff.
- Supporting colleagues in role modelling best practice.
These duties ensure the Advanced Social Work Practitioner plays a crucial role in delivering high quality services and making a positive impact on the lives of children and families.

About you:
- You will need to be social work qualified (registered with Social Work England) and have significant post-qualifying experience in working with children and families.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with children and families.
- Strong organisation skills and ability to prioritise and take accountability for own work.
- Creativity in working with children and families ensuring the childs voice is heard.
- Ability to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and organisational standards.
- Commitment to act as a role model for professional standards, ethics, and resilience.
