Harrogate Music Centre are looking for an enthusiastic, inspirational and experienced Early Years Leader to run two new early years groups, as well as the Youth Choir on Saturday mornings. The Youth Choir is predominantly formed of primary school aged children with a love of singing. They have enjoyed singing a range of repertoire and developing their ensemble, aural and general musical skills through technical exercises and songs ranging from pop, to folk, to musical theatre.

The two early years groups are as follows:

-Musical Munchkins - age 3-4
-Sound Explorers - age 5-7

This is a very exciting new adventure for Harrogate Music Centre that we are very much looking forward to. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in shaping these early years sessions and will be able to have a lot of influence over how they operate.

The chosen candidate will be required to plan, conduct and deliver high quality sessions on a weekly basis, as well as completing all registers and complying with Music Centre and North Yorkshire Council policies. They will also ensure that their ensemble has performance opportunities across the year and provide appropriately differentiated resources for each member of their ensemble. Please see the Job Description for more details.

Harrogate Music Centre is a thriving music centre with 10 ensembles catering for beginners to more advanced students and adults, as well as a number of lessons for woodwind, brass and string players. The music centre does a range of concerts and events every year and any extra hours can be claimed as overtime as well as mileage to and from concert venues. The Music Centre operates for 30 weeks across the year during the term time at St Aidan's C of E High School and this post is for 3.5 hours every Saturday. We strive to provide musical opportunities for all our members that are educational, engaging, and enjoyable.

At interview, you will be expected to perform a short piece on your chosen instrument as well as a piece of sight-reading at approximately grade 5 standard.
