Job Description

Temporary (up to one year) Fostering Supervising Social Worker, Rotherham, South Yorkshire  

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Children and Young People’s Services  

Temporary up to one year, Full time, 37 hours per week

You will be joining an authority rated as Good by Ofsted in 2018, and again in 2022.

ABOUT YOU  

You will have:    

A relevant social work qualification to support registration with Social Work England.  

A passion for improving outcomes for children.  

A minimum of two years’ experience of working within a Local Authority or private sector fostering team.  

Enthusiasm and ambition to deliver high quality support and supervision to both prospective and approved foster carers.   

Strong assessment and recording skills and be motivated to promoting an empathic understanding of the needs of looked after children across the service.   

The necessary skills to deliver a range of tasks connected to the assessment, training, support and supervision of foster carers.   

In-depth knowledge of legislation and a good understanding of the National Minimum Standards for Fostering (NMS 2011).
