Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Social Work Practitioner (grade 11) to undertake a Quality Assurance Lead role for Children’s Social Care within Wakefield Council.

With visible and stable senior management and ever increasing permanent workforce - social work in Wakefield continues to thrive.

This position is pivotal in supporting senior management in maintaining a consistent and high standard of practice throughout Wakefield. You will work within the Learning and Quality Service based in the Learning Academy, working collaboratively with Advanced Practitioners and Learning and Development leads in linking quality assurance to our learning offer.

Who are we looking for?

At Wakefield we’re looking for only the best – those with the skills, motivation, and passion to help us move forwards. You must also be the following: 

  • A qualified and experienced social worker, with a proven track record in achieving the highest standards of practice.
  • Able to undertake QA and audit activity to understand the quality of practice and services being delivered to children and families and link with the Learning Academy for development needs of the service.
  • Able to facilitate training and support Advanced Practitioner colleagues in the team with their responsibilities around the ASYE programme and training and development, as and when required.
  • An excellent communicator and have proven report writing skills as this position will entail presenting data and information to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • A team player, passionate about contributing to quality service provision. You will be expected to assist the Team Manager and Head of Service by providing support and guidance to colleagues across CYPS in promoting collaboration, strong practice and positive change.
  • Experienced in undertaking project work to support quality and performance improvement including service evaluation.
  • Able to work with the teams Audit Co-ordinator to develop and maintain effective systems to collect, record and monitor information to drive continuous improvement.
