The Role: As a Team Manager within the Children's Assessment Service, you will embed a high-performance, collaborative culture by supporting your team to continually develop their skills to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children, young people, and their families. Through reflective supervision with your team, you'll champion their personal and professional growth. You will also provide oversight on all our children and young people, ensuring quality standards are maintained whilst championing restorative practice. You will work closely with the area manager to maintain compliance and staff development.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, appraise, develop, and manage a team of social workers.
- Ensure the team delivers high-quality, timely, and cost-effective interventions for children and young people in need or at risk.
- Oversee the assessment, planning, and reviewing processes to ensure timely, effective, and sustained outcomes for children and families
- Ensure that all children and young people who have suffered or are likely to suffer significant harm receive immediate response and risk assessment.
- Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, organisational policies, and procedures
- Maintain high-quality standards in case management and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and statutory guidance
- Promote an integrated approach to assessment and provision across Children’s Services, including partner agencies
- Foster a team-around-the-family approach, working with other professionals and engaging family members in solutions
- Promote the continuing professional development of all staff in the team
- Ensure that staff are supported and provided with opportunities for growth and development
- Manage and prioritise work allocation based on staff competence, experience, and capacity
- Ensure that all activities are carried out within delegated budgets
- Promote partnership working inline with current policy and legislation.

About You:
- You will need to be social work qualified (registered with Social Work England) and have strong experience of practice and experience of developing others
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of social workers.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and ensure timely interventions
- Creativity in developing solutions that meet the unique needs of each child and family
- Ability to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and organizational standards
