This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage our Multi Agency Screening Team (MAST) that deliver a high quality and effective service to vulnerable children/young people and their families. The MAST operates Borough wide and is the first point of contact for all new referrals regarding children and young people. The team is located at Princess Buildings, Halifax and comprises of a Team Manager, 4 Practice Managers, 7 Social Workers, Education Co-ordinator and Business Support. The team is co-located with the Police, Health and the Early Help Workers.
 
We are seeking to appoint a highly committed and inspirational Team Manager, who will be required to promote and lead a culture of professional responsibility, accountability, learning and continuous improvement as well as ensure the achievement of performance targets and ensure that appropriate and timely decisions are made concerning the management of the team, staff development, priorities and allocation of the work resources. 
 
The successful applicant will have a demonstrable understanding of the interface between operational and strategic management in a Children’s Social Care context as well as experience of assessing risk and needs of children and families.

Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification, a recognised management qualification and be registered with the Social Worker England.

Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
