Learner Engagement Officer

Grade: I

Salary: From £32,076 up to £35,745 per annum pro rata

Location: Ryedale Area - Flexible hybrid working hours

Hours: Various

Contract: Fixed Term contract September 2024

North Yorkshire Councils Adult Learning and Skills service delivers life changing programmes to individuals aged 19+ across the whole region. Lifelong learning can improve wellbeing, improve job prospects and help develop strong communities. We make a real difference to many people and we can do more.

This is an exciting role for the Service for a self-motivated and enthusiastic person to ensure our offer of learning accessed from individuals, groups in the communities of North Yorkshire.

 

Can you help us make that difference?

 

You will be part of a countywide team supporting the communities of North Yorkshire to access our entire learning offer by providing appropriate and focussed information, advice and guidance and supporting the wider needs of individual learners. To attend promotional events and to outreach to where learners and groups are meeting. You will engage with learners who have barriers to learning to support them to engage with the Service.

 

Whilst this post is advertised as focused on the Ryedale Area, the role offers the opportunity to work flexibly at alternative locations across our office bases within North Yorkshire as well as home working. Flexible hybrid working hours allow for a positive work/life balance.

 

We are seeking an individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to:

·      use a range of methods to engage with adults and work with then to overcome their barriers to learning

·       be able to offer focussed information, advice and guidance

·       understand the barriers learners face in accessing learning opportunities in Ryedale area and across the county

·       work in partnership in service, across the council and in the community

·       engage with groups and individuals to reduce social isolation

·       promote health and wellbeing

·       problem solve

·       be solution-focussed

·       to work independently

·       be conscientious, well organised and 

·       be flexible in your approach.
