Job description

Our full ILACS inspection confirms that services and outcomes for many children in Hull have improved over the last two years. The experiences and progress of children in care and care leavers in Hull are now rated as good. 

We are looking for experienced Team Managers to join us as we continue on our improvement journey to provide outstanding services and outcomes for all of our children. Ofsted has confirmed that social workers enjoy working in Hull: they feel valued, good work is celebrated, and social workers feel part of the service. The retention and learning and development offers are well received.

This is an exciting opportunities for committed, motivated and outstanding individuals who want to join our team and help us deliver excellent, high-quality innovative services.  You will be required to provide clear management oversight and effective decision making in order to meet our children’s needs in a timely way, ensuring that the best outcomes are achieved.  Team Performance management is essential and you will need to demonstrate clear strategies to ensure progress is made in all areas casework. You will also need to manage and coordinate work activities in line with the service priorities, along with developing effective partnership arrangements with all appropriate stakeholders, always with the children and family needs at the heart.   

An ability to challenge effectively and support the workforce enabling them to deliver excellent practice whilst prioritising competing demands. It is really important to us that Hull is a great place to be a child and grow up; a place of opportunity where young people are able to live happy and productive lives and a place where young people will want to live and work in the future. 

We’ll expect you to manage all aspects of social work including assessment, report writing, case and team workload risk management. You’ll need a degree or diploma in Social Work, full Social Work England registration and a proven ability to work in partnership with children, young people, parents, carers and partners.
