Family Intervention Key Worker
Job description
Post Ref: CC646
Please note: Internal at risk or redeployee applicants will be seen in the first instance.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Calderdale’s Family Intervention Team, which sits within Children and Family Services. The Family Intervention Team has a key focus on working with families that have multiple and complex needs such as families that are suffering child poverty, at risk of eviction due to anti-social behaviour, those in financial hardship as well as working with the following additional groups, families of prolific and persistent adult offenders, families involved in substance misuse and families surviving domestic violence.
The key worker will work persistently and intensively, with targeted families who face particularly complex and multiple issues, using a holistic 'think family' approach and provide support to a complex child and family workload, which includes Child Protection, Children with Disabilities, Looked after Children and Care Leavers in accordance with procedures, with the support of Children's Social Care. They will also take a lead role with Child in Need cases where allocated.
Experienced in working with ‘hard to reach’ children and families who present challenging behaviour, using an 'outcomes focussed' approach, you should have proven assessment, analytical and reflective skills as well as experience of being a Lead Professional. You will also bring the ability to work within a framework of ‘support and challenge’.
Due to the Covid Pandemic, key workers are now working in a hybrid way; key workers currently spend 2 days in an office environment, the rest of the week the workers are based from home, completing visits from their home as a base.
