Do you want to join a strong and high performing fostering service who are proud how they support local vulnerable children to live with local foster carers? Do you want to see children remaining close to their families, in their community and school wherever possible?
This person will be someone who can step into the team, lead and manage Social Workers and Support Workers (with the support of Practice Supervisors) to ensure the delivery of an effective fostering service for the care of North Yorkshire’s looked after children. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a fostering service and up to date knowledge of all the fostering regulations, National Minimum Standards and associated guidance to ensure that the service maintains statutory compliance and achieves high quality practice.
Fostering North Yorkshire is a county wide service committed to developing excellent practice that comprises of two large teams across North Yorkshire. You will be managing the supervision and support function to our approved foster carers and overseeing the assessment of new foster carers across Selby and Scarborough, and surrounding areas.
You will be providing the management and oversight to facilitate high quality foster care by ensuring that the team recruits robust new foster carers and effectively supports all approved foster carers. Whilst also focusing upon high performance across all aspects of delivering a fostering service (including acting as Panel Adviser to Fostering Panel) and ensure that strategic visions are translated into local plans in collaboration with foster carers, peer professionals, partners and children.
