We currently have a rare opportunity to advertise for a part time social worker within one of our Assessment teams.
We welcome applications from newly qualified to experienced social workers to join our dynamic and friendly service.
As an assessment social worker, you are responsible for supporting families from the start of their journey into Children’s Services. You will complete Child and Family Single Assessments, identifying risk and support needs alongside families and their networks to understand if they need ongoing help from agencies. We aim to work in partnership with other agencies, children and their families to make positive changes and achieve their goals, help support children’s development and keep them safe. We in the Assessment teams work with families in the short term whilst we offer intervention, empower them to make and sustain their own changes or signpost them on to further support through our Safeguarding teams, Early Help or through universal services.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to working with the children and young people of York to make sustainable changes and improve outcomes for children.
It is also an exciting time to join us in York! We are implementing a Practice Model ‘Building Brighter Futures’ which encompasses the Signs of Safety and Family Seeing Models and we use systemic practice to promote strengths and safety with the family networks we support. We have a clear career pathway for social workers in York.
