Placement & Fostering Manager in the Fostering Services

Grade: SM1

Salary: From £55,056 up to £63,367 per annum pro rata

Hours: Full time

Contract: Permanent

Location: County Wide.  Flexible work bases and hybrid working available

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Fostering Service as the Placement & Fostering Manager. In this role you will be supporting the Head of Children’s Resources in the delivery of overarching service plans ensuring placement sufficiency needs are identified and the stability of placements for our Looked after Children in foster care is maintained.

 

Within this role you will support with the development of overarching strategies to ensure that placements for children are well matched and can meet need.  You will manage all aspects of the fostering service ensuring the service is effective, responsive and high quality in meeting all local and national statutory requirements and good practice guidance.

 

You will focus on the delivery of the service area in line with the current national legislative requirements and all policies and procedures. You will ensure that the strategic vision and priorities of the Children and Young People’s Plan (CYPP) are delivered collaboratively and that they have a high impact on outcomes. One of the focuses will be to promote the work of the Children and Families Service across local, regional and national forums, including media outlets.

 

You will develop new projects, programmes and working practices which maximise benefits to children, young people, families within our community and take the lead on planning, implementing and evaluating a number of service development and quality improvement initiatives.

 

About you

 

We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude who thinks creatively and places children and carers at the heart of their work.  In North Yorkshire we have an embedded practice model and want someone with the vision and innovative thinking to drive this forward within the service.  We need someone who is committed to transformational change and innovative solutions to service delivery and development.

  

We need you to have a full awareness of current national developments for children and families service and have a full understanding of Children’s Social Care statutory frameworks and experience and knowledge of the OFSTED inspection frameworks for fostering services.  As well as extensive knowledge and fundamental understanding of current research and practice standards in relation to children & families and fostering at a local and national level and principles and models of Quality Assurance and performance management.
