Deputy Manager

Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire

Salary: From £38,220 up to £42,839 per annum pro rata 

Grade: JK 

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time (37 hours)

 

Are you a passionate and resilient leader with experience supporting children and young people with disabilities? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment, and want to make a real difference in the lives of children with complex needs?

 

 We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team at Morton on Swale Children’s Resource Centre, a registered children’s home providing short breaks for children with disabilities. You’ll work alongside the Registered Manager and another Deputy Manager to lead and support a committed team in delivering high-quality care.

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will:

  • Support the day-to-day management and leadership of the service
  • Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence
  • Attend key meetings and ensure Ofsted requirements are met
  • Oversee rota preparation, health and safety, staff supervision and appraisals
  • Drive forward practice and innovation in care delivery

 

You’ll also take part in an out-of-hours standby rota (post-induction), supporting CRCs across North Yorkshire – with an additional allowance paid.

 

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children and young people, ideally in a regulated care setting
  • Holds (or is committed to completing) a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management of Children’s Homes (or equivalent)
  • Is a confident, autonomous leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Can advocate for and empower young people, especially those with autism, complex health needs, or behaviours that challenge
  • Has experience in multi-agency working and is IT competent

 

You will ideally be able to demonstrate evidence of experience within a regulated care setting and have experience of working with children or adults with disabilities.

Experience of working in a multi-agency environment is essential and IT competence is also necessary.
