Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit 2 full time Clinical Psychologists to the newly developed therapy, assessment and psychology service within Doncaster Council’s Young People’s Service (YPS).

The YPS has worked hard in developing a systemic and psychologically based culture within the existing structure. This is an opportunity for the post-holder to be involved in an innovative method of working with young people and their families across the borough, which may include those involved in criminal behaviours, those who have experienced trauma and invalidation and those who present with challenging behaviours.

We are looking to appoint a qualified clinical psychologist to provide a high-quality provision to children, young people and their families. The clinical psychologist will join the expanding team of therapeutic professionals, in order to provide assessment (including neurodevelopmental), formulation, individual and group interventions and consultation using a range of therapeutic approaches including CBT, DBT systemic and EMDR. The clinical psychologist will work closely with their team colleagues, external partners and the Psychology Service Manager and will receive high standards of supervision

This is a challenging role but if you enjoy working with young people and their families and making a difference to children’s lives then you will find this post rewarding and fulfilling.

Doncaster Council is committed to developing and supporting the workforce and if you are employed by us then you can look forward to on-going professional development and training.

The post-holder will be required to attend and contribute to a variety of multiagency meetings relating to young people, including writing professional reports when requested.

We are committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As part of the selection process you will be required to undergo criminal records Bureau Check.

If you are interested in this post and require more detail, please contact Dr Jodie Howarth-Beal on 01302 736100/07817 087942.
