We are looking for a Social Worker to join our Disabled Children’s Service!

The Role
You will be working in a team that is constantly trying to improve outcomes for disabled children and their families. You will be based in a specialist team of social workers providing support and advice to children and young people with significant learning and physical disabilities, aged between 0-18, and their families. The team is committed to work with children and their families/carers, using a range of solution focussed, strength-based relationship practice models. The DC&YPS provide services which follow from specific legislation, including the Children Act 1989, the Children Act 2004, CSDPA 1970, the Care Act 2014 and the Short Breaks Guidance. We are committed to providing excellent quality services to support severely disabled children, young people and their families.
There will be a requirement to manage Looked After Children casework, safeguarding and court work; this is dependent on knowledge and skills.
Key Requirements:
- Must hold a relevant Social Work qualification (DIPSW, CQSW, Masters, or Degree in Social Work).
- Able to demonstrate skills and knowledge aligned with the job specification.
- Passionate about working with disabled young people and committed to creating brighter futures for them.
- Must be registered with Social Work England.
- Confident spoken communication skills required.
- Proficient use of the English language is essential for this role.
