Fixed Term for 12 months to cover secondment.
Are you passionate about making a positive and lasting difference for some of our most vulnerable children and young people?
Are you ambitious for the future in Hull?
Internal movement of Team Manager for the Assessment Service has created the 12 month opportunity working as part of the Assessment Service.
The Assessment Service is a fast passed and busy service supporting new children and young people who are in need or at risk. You will have day to day management responsibility for social workers within an assessment team. This includes management oversight of performance to ensure that we are meeting our statutory responsibilities for children and young people who need social work intervention. You will be accountable to the Group Manager and will provide operational updates and information to ensure they are fully sighted on the progress and quality of your team.
This role would suit someone who is looking to develop and take the next step in their career. We are looking for a committed and ambitious individual who is passionate about promoting the future of our children and young people. You will be a valued part of an experienced and confident team where there is ongoing leadership development and support as well as a stable workforce.
You will have good knowledge and understanding of children’s safeguarding work so that you can provide clear management oversight and effective decision making in order to meet our children’s needs in a timely way, ensuring that the best outcomes are achieved. Performance management is essential, and you will need to demonstrate clear strategies to ensure progress is made in all areas. An ability to challenge effectively and support the workforce enabling them to deliver excellent practice whilst prioritising competing demands is essential. You will also need to manage and coordinate work activities in line with the service priorities, along with developing effective partnership arrangements with all appropriate stakeholders, always with the children and family’s needs at the heart.
It is really important to us that Hull is a great place to be a child and grow up; a place of opportunity where young people are able to live happy and productive lives and a place where young people will want to live and work in the future.
