This exciting Advanced Practitioner post has been created as part of Calderdale’s commitment to supporting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of all Children Looked After.

Calderdale Council’s Children’s Services have recently been judged by Ofsted as ‘Good’ overall in all areas across Children Social Care. What we are looking for is to appoint an Advanced Practitioner to join the Calderdale Therapeutic Service (CTS) for Children looked after. CTS is small, dynamic team of dedicated professionals providing a targeted emotional wellbeing and mental health support service that to Children that are looked after by Calderdale local authority.

As an a Advanced practitioner you will provide therapeutic assessments of need, offer trauma sensitive formulations and provide a range of direct and indirect interventions.

You will also be comfortable offering psychologically informed support to professional social work networks, facilitating reflective practice groups and delivering key training related to the teams work.

The Advanced Practitioner will need to be a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to take responsibility for the development of specific areas of professional social work practice across the borough including mentoring less experienced members of the team.

It is also desirable for the post holder to have previous experience and /or qualifications in delivering therapeutic interventions.

Applications will be considered from qualified social worker (BA/DipSW/CQSW or equivalent), registered with Social Work England and who can demonstrate they have therapeutic training or significant relevant work experience in the field of child and adolescent mental health, trauma or attachment based work.
