Job description

We are always looking for better and smarter ways to work and are seeking to recruit a practice supervisor to support and direct social work practice in our Children with a Disability Service. The role of practice supervisor is integral to the delivery of high-quality practice to achieve the best outcomes for our children and families.

Do you:

  • Have a commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare?
  • Have a strong track record of supporting the development of others through supporting students and newly qualified social workers?
  • Have a desire to improve the standards of social work as we strive towards outstanding practice?
  • Have a clear understanding of what high quality social work assessment and planning looks like?
  • Have experience of chairing multi-agency meetings?
  • Evidence the skill of offering high challenge and high support to those you are working with.

We are looking for an experienced social worker who is ready to take the next step in their professional career. Within this role you will be responsible for the supervision and day to day support of a small team of social workers who are working with children under a child in need, child protection plan or looked after children. You would be working closely with partners such as education and health to ensure that children and their families have the right support.

The Children with a Disability Service works with children who have complex needs and often require a package of support. A Practice Supervisor within this service would need to be creative and understand the complexities of working with children and their families where a child as a disability.

 We recognise the need to support our practitioners in order to develop and enhance their skills and experience, you will be expected to share your expertise, provide leadership and direction to your staff which in turn will enable them to provide exceptional services to our children, young people and their families.

You must hold a Social Work England (SWE) recognised Social Work Qualification and be registered with SWE.
