Contract hours: Full & part time 

Location: Morton on Swale Children’s Centre, Morton On Swale, Northallerton DL7 9TD

About the role

 

-        Morton on Swale Children’s Resource Centre provides support to children and young people with disabilities. We offer short breaks and day care and support young people to access local facilities and have adventures.

-        Many young people we support have autism with varying levels of challenging behaviours, some have complex health needs requiring additional support with moving and transferring, epilepsy management, administrating of medication and gastro and feed care for which you would receive training.

-        The role requires staff to work shifts including early mornings, evenings, sleep ins and waking nights as appropriate to the post they apply for but there are additional shifts which are available to staff to pick up on a monthly basis.

-        You will be required to carry out duties such as personal care, housekeeping tasks, key working and medication amongst other duties. You would also be required to work 26 weekends of the year.

 

About you

 

We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic, and highly skilled child focussed professionals with a positive approach and an understanding of safeguarding practice in a registered childcare setting. You should be an effective communicator who can adapt the way you communicate to engage young people who may not use words to speak.

 

You should have willingness to complete an apprenticeship as part of your role to a level 4 standard.
