About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pathway Leaving Care team for a full time Advanced Social Practitioner on a permanent basis.
Our Pathway Team works with young people who have been under the care of the local authority and are now transitioning to adulthood. The team also works with unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and refugees.
This opportunity is available to external and internal applicants for Social Workers currently employed by The East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
Working as part of a team of 5 social workers, 2 advanced social workers, 10 Personal Advisors, 1 Accommodation Officer, an Education, Training and Employment Advisor and a dedicated admin support to undertake service specific tasks, the roles report directly to the Team Manager.
What We're Looking For:
- A qualified social worker (DipSW or equivalent) with post-qualifying training.
- A confident, motivated professional who can lead by example and contribute to our journey toward excellence.
- Strong decision-making skills and a clear understanding of the statutory duties and responsibilities in relation to our children looked after and care leavers
- Experienced in statutory childcare work, particularly with Children Looked After.
- Skilled in managing complex casework.
- A confident communicator, able to build rapport and deliver clear information.
- A commitment to ensuring timely and appropriate support for children and families.
- Excellent partnership working and the ability to use your initiative
- Experience working across organisational boundaries to improve outcomes.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
