Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Deliver Manager for Workforce Development with our Children and Families Directorate. The Service Delivery Manager in Workforce Development manages a team who are responsible for the delivery of the workforce development offer across the directorate. This role also involves working closely with the Head of Service for Workforce Development around the poverty work across the council and Equality.

We have been rated Outstanding by OFSTED in 2018 and 2022 and work with many Local Authorities as part of their improvement journeys. But we are also a learning city and welcome new ideas and learning from others to continually improve our offer to children and families of Leeds.

Leeds are part of the Leeds and Wakefield Teaching Partnership along with Leeds Beckett and Leeds University. You will play a key strategic role in the Teaching Partnership ensuring we are meeting our objectives and have a current, effective and up to date social work training offer. You will also work with Salford University and 3 other LA’s around delivery of Step up to Social Work Programme for which Leeds is the lead LA.

You will have a sound understanding and experience of workforce development ensuring that key themes and priorities are reflected and delivered in all our training. This will involve working closely with Service Managers across the Directorate to ensure learning from Quality Assurance is incorporated into the training and development offer. This role is suited to a creative person who is committed to tackling inequality, creating conditions so we can deliver the best service to children and families, embraces new ideas and is solution focused in the current challenging times managing budgets and getting the best service and best value for Team Leeds.
