It is an exciting time to join the team as we develop the Family Seeing and Signs of Belonging practice which dovetails the Signs of Safety model which is well established within CYC Children’s Service. Social workers will have the opportunity to work directly with the co-founders of these models and embark on this continued journey with us.
Successful candidates will receive continuous training, access to knowledge banks and will be part of the leadership group of the Building Brighter Futures practice model forward.
The Children in Our Care team works with looked after children, implementing their care plans to support them through to adulthood or to return to their families when positive change has been achieved. We support children and young people who are subject to Care Orders and those accommodated under Section 20 of the Children Act. We also work with children who are living with their parents under Placement with Parent regulations.
We seek to support our children and young people to achieve their potential through having high aspirations for them.
We offer a manageable caseload which will allow you to form strong relationships with children, young people and the team around them. Our social workers work in a high challenge and high support environment with an established and committed team. There is regular one to one supervision as well as peer/group supervision.
Candidates will need to be highly motivated and committed to ensuring timescales are met to ensure our young people receive a good quality service. The candidate will need to be able to work independently, with skills in meeting timescales and manging conflicting priorities.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
