Calderdale Residential Service continues to thrive and as we go through further development we are looking to recruit staff to work in our Childrens Homes within the borough (3 Bed Maximum) to provide care and support to Children and Young People aged 8-18.

Please note: Due to the nature of the work, it is a legislative requirement that there be a five year gap between the oldest child on site and youngest member of staff. Due to this restriction applications will be considered from those aged 23 or over.

The successful candidate will be part of a team that promotes high standards of care working in fast paced environment placed alongside experienced staff and aspirational Managers in protecting individual needs, promote education and ensure that all matters related to physical and emotional health are fully met.

  • Ability to manage and overcome challenging situations
  • Ability to work in a Team consistently towards a common goal
  • Committed to Mandatory, Formal and Informal Learning

We are looking for staff to work in one of Calderdale’s Residential Childrens Homes, who has experience of working in environments with Children & Young People who have experienced Trauma.

You will have experience of shift planning, leading teams and supporting colleagues whilst following the homes and service ambitions.

You must be motivated, energetic, charismatic, enthusiastic and have a sincere ambition for Children & Young People, Self & Colleagues, to thrive.

You must have a UK Drivers Licence & be qualified to a minimum of Level 3 or 4 in Childrens & Young People.


You will be expected to role model positive parenting behaviours, ability to form relationships and connect with Young People, advocate and consult with professionals on behalf of the young person sharing setbacks and successes, willing to undertake tasks in ever changing circumstances and play a key role within a wider team.
