Job description

Do you have the skills, qualities and passion needed to make a positive difference to the lives of children with a disability and their families in North Lincolnshire?

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated care officers to work within our short breaks children’s home. The Cygnets offers overnight short breaks and one residential placement, to children and young people aged between 5 and 18 years old, who have a physical and/or learning disability, including those with a complex health need and/or Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

We are looking for committed, creative and versatile individuals who will be prepared to work flexibly on a rota that covers 7 days and includes weekends, bank holidays and regular on-call duties, which attract salary enhancements.

Applicants will need to have knowledge of disabilities and be able support children and young people with their personal, social, emotional and physical needs and have experience of delivering direct personal care.

The successful candidates will have experience of working with children and be creative in their approach to engaging young people. You will be able to take direction and work as part of a team, and when necessary, take responsibility for leading a shift in the absence of a senior care officer.

You will need to hold or be willing to work towards a level 3 or equivalent, childcare related subject.

What we can offer you in return: Our outstanding home offers you the opportunity to be part of a supportive and dynamic team with a commitment to our teams learning and development. Up to 30 days of annual leave and an additional bank holiday entitlement Local Government pension scheme Staff discount schemes
