A post has come available within the Learning & Quality service in the Learning Academy for an Advanced Social Work Practitioner – Practice & Development Lead, Grade 11, Full Time 37 hours.
What do we do?
The Learning & Quality Service supports all colleagues within CYPS to ensure that we can achieve a real change and measurable impact upon children and young people across the Wakefield district.
The aim of the Learning Academy is to promote an everyday learning culture using a range of learning theories to change behaviour and influence actions. We recognise the different ways in which learning takes place in the workplace and actively encourage engagement, sharing lessons, and telling stories to motivate and build confidence within practice.
As an Advanced Practitioner in the Learning Academy, your key outcomes and tasks will be to support the Team Manager in delivering an efficient and effective Workforce Development function through the following:
- Delivery and facilitation of existing training interventions across CYPS such as Restorative Practice.
- Planning, implementation and evaluation of identified training projects and programmes.
- Providing additional reflective supervision, designated one to one support with the aim of strengthening practice and the continued development of Social Care staff within CYPS.
- Support the team to creatively design, deliver and evaluate service events involving all directorates in CYPS.
- Develop materials and resources to enhance learning and development providing creative ways of communicating across the service this includes newsletters, flyers and social media content.
- Providing support with Quality Assurance activities including case audits.
- Any other duties as required performed as part of the Learning and Quality Team.
The ideal candidate will be:
- An experienced qualified Social Worker with extensive practice knowledge and experience.
- A strong communicator with presentation skills that could convey information to different learning styles, showing signs of leadership skills.
- An active listener who can mentor and build resilience and confidence in others.
- Flexible and adaptable to design and progress training programmes.
- Creative and enjoy working alongside colleagues in all services across CYPS
