Job description

In Barnsley, we are one service, with a vision to work together to improve outcomes for children, and nowhere is that more evident than in our Integrated Front Door (IFD). Our IFD is the first point of contact for any family, professional or member of the public sharing safeguarding concerns about a child. Working with colleagues from South Yorkshire Police, Health Partnership, Early Help Services, Education, and Probation, you will ensure high quality, timely and child focused decisions are made in respect of children who need help or protection.

As one of three team managers, you will drive high standards, ensuring high-quality and effective triage and screening takes place to reach the right decision at the right time. You will chair MADA, Strategy and other complex meetings and will have a good understanding of threshold application and be confident in your decision making and analysis of risk.

With a strengths-based approach and commitment to working in partnership with families to build resilience, you will play a key role in planning and improving outcomes for children from the very start of the child’s journey

You'll manage a stable and experienced team of qualified social workers, and will provide high quality reflective supervision, undertake Quality Assurance activity and promote a culture of continuous learning and development.

Join us in a nurturing environment with visible and supportive leadership and a robust development offer at all levels.

What you will need;

You will have significant post-qualifying experience of working within statutory children’s social care services, have a sound working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance and be able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to your learning and development.
