North Yorkshire Council have a national reputation for excellence, and we are looking for Social Workers across our Family Assessment and Support Teams. We also welcome those who are looking to relocate.
The Role
Our Family Assessment and Support Teams work with children, young people and the families who are Children in Need and Child Protection.
As part of the role, you will:
- Collaborate with each child’s unique support network to promote positive change
- Receive extensive training and development tailored to your practice
- Engage in both short-term assessments and long-term support via Child and Family Plans and Protection Plans
- Opportunity to be involved in pre-proceedings and care proceedings
- Support children and young people from birth up to age 18
- Build strong partnerships with external agencies and other teams in North Yorkshire
Support You Will Receive
- Dedicated Team Manager and Practice Supervisor to support social workers within the team.
- Skilled business support professionals to enable you to spend more time with Children, Young People and their families.
- Robust supervision policy with regular individual and group sessions
- Participate in county-wide practice forums, conversation cafés, and reflective learning with our Principal Social Worker
About You
We are looking for Social Workers with a ‘can do’ attitude who are child focussed, like to think outside of the box and are creative in their planning with children. It does not matter whether you are starting out in your social work career, returning to practice or an experienced worker looking for a new challenge in either a different field or new authority. North Yorkshire Council offers excellent CPD and career progression. We are part of the Department of Education sector lead improvement programme and a member of The Yorkshire Urban and Rural Teaching Partnership.
