Job description

As a Team Manager for Child Protection Chairs, LADO and FCRIO you will be responsible for leading internal practice improvement as well influence local delivery partners while also working on a mix of strategic and operational matters. You will drive and oversee the work of the Safeguarding Unit service which includes ensuring high quality social work and targeted intervention practice that engages with children and families in persistent and non-judgemental way, setting high expectations and support and challenge all relevant staff.

You will be a key figure and will work with senior managers and partner agencies to ensure effective delivery of a range of integrated services.

Essential requirement of the role

  • Professional social work qualification and registration with professional body.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams and an ability to influence others and lead change by providing assurance and inspiring confidence.
  • Strong business planning and management skills, including responsibility of ensuring quality of practice and service delivery across the operational area is not only sustained but continually improved.
  • To contribute to the training and development of Wakefield Council Children and Young People&©s workforce.
  • Support the Head of Safeguarding, Learning and Quality and others to assure the impact of interventions.
