We’re excited to be recruiting for a Senior Commissioning Manager here in Barnsley, the place of possibilities.

To contribute to this vision, we are looking to recruit a talented senior commissioning manager who has the aptitude for understanding complex needs, the ability to take a whole system view and the creativity to improve services working with service users, and also the skills to encourage a strong provider market. 

As a Senior Commissioning Manager, you will be required to manage a team of commissioners working to improve outcomes and service quality whilst delivering public value. Your responsibilities will include leading a portfolio of projects within the Children’s directorate include overseeing the Looked After Children’s Placements Sufficiency program.

To be successful, ideally you will need to have experience of working within a fast paced commissioning setting working with complex groups, service users and families, as well as a sound grasp of the commissioning cycle. This includes specific experience and knowledge in relation to children who need Local Authority Care.  You will be experienced in partnership working, stakeholder engagement, and understand national policy and local need. 

You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work in partnership with senior managers across the system and highlight methods for measuring impact and outcomes. You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a strong team and matrix management approach. It is essential that you can stay calm under pressure whilst managing competing priorities and you will need to be someone who thrives on a challenge.
