Salary: £48,474 - £52,504 per annum pro rata + relocation support
Location: Northallerton/York. We very much promote flexible working with the ability to work remotely from a variety of bases as well as from home, whatever makes sense and is suitable to provide the best service.
Hours: Full-time/ 37 hours

North Yorkshire Council have a national reputation for excellence, and we are looking for a Service Manager of Adoption with a variety of experience and skills. We also welcome those who are looking to relocate. You will have a significant role with the City of York adoption team and with our regional adoption arrangements. You will have an in-depth knowledge of adoption and best practice within this field of work.

We are looking for a Service Manager Adoption Service who shares our values and passion to improve outcomes for children and young people. You will have a good understanding of the challenges that children and families face and want to truly make a positive change whilst driving forward the promotion and development of the Strength in Relationship Practice model, which puts effective relationships with children and families at its heart. As a Partner in Practice, we are leading the way in social work with children and their families; our work is child-centred and there is a longstanding, clearly embedded model of practice, based on building effective relationships with children, young people and families.
One of the primary aspects of the role of a Service Manager is to lead and manage Adoption Social Workers with the support of Practice Supervisors to ensure the delivery of an effective adoption service to children and adopters in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures.
As you continue to develop, we will support this with the First line leadership programme in conjunction with a range of corporate leadership programmes facilitated by the council.

The post holder will need to be professionally qualified and already have a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services.
