Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager to operational leadership within our Children with a Disability Service. This is a Team Manager role with responsibility for managing our Children with a Disability Service, alongside an existing Team Manager, providing high-quality, child-centred support to children and young people with complex needs and their families.

We're on an ambitious journey and looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and high performing Team Manager for Children with a Disability’s Service who is passionate, talented and committed with depth knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework and polices in relation to disability, and children to join our management team that's already transforming our children and young people services.

You will be a professional role model accountable for quality of practice, developing the potential of all employees and promoting a culture which maximises employee contribution to achieving service objectives. A creative and flexible approach to work and the drive and motivation to work with families whose needs are complex is key. Good people skills are a must.  

Supported by a Service Manager we are committed to providing you with a comprehensive induction programme, dedicated supervision and a range of CPD opportunities as well as further management development.

  • You will provide supervision and opportunities for reflection and analysis as well as being responsible for the allocation of casework, actively managing caseloads so that our practitioners are able to do the quality child centred work that they want to. 
  • You will ensure that risk is managed proportionately, and safeguarding is of paramount importance.
  • You will have overall management oversight to ensure the team has workloads appropriate to their level of skill and experience that is fundamental to this role.
  • You will take responsibility for prioritising the work of the team and effectively deploying resources.
  • You will ensure services are safe, effective, inclusive, and compliant with all relevant legislation and regulatory standards.
  • You will work collaboratively with families, partner agencies, and multidisciplinary professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.

The Team Manger will be required to travel as part of their duties. It is expected that you hold a full and valid driving license.
