Practice Supervisor – Children & Families Service Care Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children's Team

Grade: M

Salary: From £44,428 up to £48,474 per annum pro rata

Hours: Full time 

Contract Type: Permanent    

Location: Countywide, County Hall Northallerton- The service very much promotes flexible working with the ability to work remotely from other bases, as well as working from home.  

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Social Worker interested in career progression to act up to this position or an existing Practice Supervisor who is looking for experience in working with Unaccompanied asylum seeking children and young people.

 

We are looking for a full time Practice supervisor who shares our values and passion to improve outcomes for Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and Young People. You will have a good understanding of the challenges that these children face and want to truly make a positive change whilst driving forward the promotion and development of the Strength in Relationship Practice model, which puts effective relationships with children and families at its heart. It is essential that you have experience of working with Unaccompanied Asylum seeking children, age assessments, and immigration law to ensure that these children and young people are to be supported to reach their full potential. Language skills would be highly desirable.

 

 

In the Child Permanence and Family Reunification team we work with all young people up to the age of 18 who are either Looked After by the Local Authority in a variety of placements whether family placements or foster families, Child in Need and Unaccompanied asylum seeking children and Children subject to court proceedings. We have strong links with other teams and services and work collaboratively with them, a knowledge of care leavers would be highly desirable.

 

We have high aspirations for our young people and always strive to work collaboratively with families and young people, working strongly with the belief that each child and young person has a network around them which is essential to work alongside and tap into.  

 

We have a high investment in training for our Social Workers including family network and practice models and approaches to support good Social Work practice. This includes specific practice model training which cover systemic, signs of safety, restorative and family networking approaches.  

 

This person will be someone who can step into the team, support the Team Managers to lead and manage Social Workers to ensure the delivery of an effective social work service to children and their families in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures.
