The City of York Council are excited to be recruiting 2 team managers for the Safeguarding Intervention Service at City of York. This is an exciting time to join us, with a newly appointed Director and Assistant Director of Children’s Social Care, we are focused on supporting a high achieving workforce who have the time, resources and support to put children and their families at the centre of all we do.

 

You will be managing a team of social workers and supporting practitioners undertaking child protection and child in need work. We are looking for managers who are passionate about keeping children safe and who put children and families at the centre of their work. You will report directly to the Group Manager for Safeguarding interventions.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express him/herself spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
