We are looking to recruit a team manager for the fostering service.

It is an exciting time to join the service which is expanding and developing. You will join a team with a strong commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes for children and young people by ensuring that foster carers have good levels of support to parent our children and promoting permanence via placement stability ‘packages’.

The successful candidate will be able to manage a team to deliver a high standard of statutory services related to fostering. They will be an excellent communicator with a can-do approach, demonstrate sound professional knowledge and judgement which in turn will be used to support and guide others, particularly with regard to current legislation and practise.

As Child Friendly Leeds our vision is for Leeds to be the best city in the UK and the best city for children and young people to grow up in. Through our vision and obsessions we invest in children and young people to help build an increasingly prosperous and successful city. We aim to improve outcomes for all our children whilst recognising the need for outcomes to improve faster for children and young people from vulnerable and deprived backgrounds.

Children’s social work in Leeds is underpinned by a culture of restorative practice. Our approach was recognised by Ofsted in 2018 when we were judged as outstanding: “Children and families in Leeds are receiving a consistently good service which ensures that their needs are met at the right time by the right service”.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Lisa Noble, Fostering Interim Service Delivery Manager 0789 1273898.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
