You work under the direction of the SGO Team Manager in reviewing assessment of support needs and providing support to carers and children on an Special Guardian Order.

An exciting opportunity has arisen here at the Trust to recruit to two permanent full time Liaison Officers to work in our newly established Special Guardianship Order (SGO) Team.

The successful candidates will work under the supervision of the SGO Team Manager and will be required to:

  • Review assessment of support needs and provide support to carers of children on a Special Guardian Order.
  • Hold cases at single and multi-agency becoming the lead professional to gain the support required to meet the needs of the children and carers.
  • Organise and take part in events and training for our carers and children bringing the support network together.
  • Visit potential carers to inform them of the Special Guardianship package and what support we can offer to them throughout the process and after the order is granted so they do not feel alone.
