We support the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme for newly qualified social workers. This is an established programme with training and learning opportunities throughout the year.
The sessions offered include using the Signs of Safety tools, danger statements, strength based writing, use of resources and best practice examples. Locality ASYE support groups are held on a regular basis to discuss evidence and research to support newly qualified social workers in their roles.
Working in a strength based way with families we will enable you to develop your social work practice by investing in your practice wisdom. Training in signs of safety, systematic and restorative practice will support you to work in a child centred and safe way where creativity and innovation is valued; as you develop in your social work career there are opportunities in association with our teaching partnership with the university of York and Huddersfield to undertake further post qualifying training in practice educating and research to support best evidence and help develop research skills and knowledge within the organisation; alongside a variety of in house training courses to develop your knowledge and skills further to support your day to day work.
“I am pleased to know that I have reached the end of my ASYE journey. Looking back from where I was 12 months ago and where I am now I can honestly feel the transformation that has taken place. Not only in an increase of confidence but also in knowledge and skills I gained during the different learning opportunities made available to me.”
