An exciting full time post has arisen for a qualified social worker to join the award winning Multi Agency Screening Team (MAST), based at County Hall in Northallerton MAST is crucial in consistently screening all contacts to North Yorkshire’s Children’s Families Service using Signs of Safety model (Turnell and Edwards 1999) a strength based solution focused approach, ensuring the right service is allocated to families at the right time.

MAST is a multiagency team, consisting of The Screening Team is a multiagency team consisting of Social Workers, Social Work Managers, North Yorkshire Police, Safeguarding Nurses, Early Help Managers and Business Support. MAST are responsible for in reviewing, analysing and decision making in situations including domestic violence and Child Exploitation all screened within Daily Meetings

The social worker is vital in contributing to the screening meetings, decision making, carrying out tasks within tight timescales ensuring regular communication with agencies, families and referrers. The successful applicant will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, excel in gathering, assessing and analysing information and be confident using IT systems.

The successful applicants will have an understanding of Signs of Safety model and you will be expected to drive this across other agencies. The successful applicant will thrive in a fast paced work environment and enjoy working within a multiagency team.

The majority of the work is office based however there are regular opportunities to ensure professional development is kept up to date.
