We have a permanent, full time (37 hours a week) Social Worker vacancy within Sheffield City Council Adult’s Social Care Service, within the People Portfolio. The vacancy is in Locality 6, which covers the Darnall, Manor Castle, Park & Arbourthorne and Richmond areas of the city.

This role is based within locality fieldwork teams who produce a high throughput of quality social work interventions inclusive of:
Application of the Care Act 2014 e.g. assessing needs and safeguarding adults at risk of abuse and neglect.

Application of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 e.g. mental capacity assessments and best interests decision making.

Participation in National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS Funded Nursing Care Decision Support Tools.

Ideally, candidates will have some experience of inter-agency and multidisciplinary work with partners inclusive of health, as well as solution focused plus person and community centred practice with adults from a variety of service user groups.  There will be the opportunity to gain a wide breadth of experience with different service users and in a variety of contexts.

Competency generally in utilising information and communication technology is necessary – but training on specific systems will also be available.

Candidates for a Level 2 Social Worker role will need to evidence professional qualifications & CPD, career experience, knowledge and skills at a level appropriate for an ‘Experienced Social Worker’ under the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF).
