An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adoption Team in Doncaster Children’s Services Trust as an Adoption Social Worker, primarily working in Post Adoption Support, working with adult adoptees and access to adoption records.
The adoption service in Doncaster has been rated as Outstanding in its VAA inspection (July 2018).
You will join a dynamic, creative, confident and forward thinking team whose aim is to recruit and assess excellent prospective adopters and find suitable families for children who have an adoption plan. The service also provides a range of adoption support services to children and their families including a good service to adult adoptees and those who wish to access adoption records.

You will join a dynamic, creative, confident and forward thinking team whose aim is to recruit and assess excellent prospective adopters and find suitable families for children who have an adoption plan. The service also provides a range of adoption support services to children and their families including a good service to adult adoptees and those who wish to access adoption records.
Your role will be largely to ensure that adult adoptees who wish to access information about their birth records can do so in a timely manner, or be referred to PAC-UK/Family Action and provide information to adopters and other adoption agencies where necessary.
You will be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the services. There will be an opportunity to share your knowledge and experience whilst providing some training and development opportunities for adopters, staff within the team and throughout the Trust.
A working knowledge of adoption and post adoption support would be advantageous.
Practitioners within the team receive good support, where excellent social work practice is encouraged and supported and continuing professional development is at the forefront for all in the team.
