The City of York Council are recruiting for a social worker to join their Children in Permanent Placements team.

You will join a team of established social workers working with our looked after children and young people. We work across all ages, supporting those children whose plan for permanence has been agreed. Our goal is to achieve great outcomes for young people through implementing high quality care/pathway plans and ensuring that every child knows their potential and our belief they can achieve this. You will have a manageable caseload which will allow you to form strong relationships with your young people and the team around them. You will be; creative, a problem solver, a reflective practitioner, child centred, flexible, have an ability to prioritise and able to evidence your work through employing good IT skills.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
