That’s where you come in. We currently have an exciting opportunity for two Assessing Social Workers. We are looking for talented, experienced Social Workers to join our Fostering Recruitment and Retention Team. There is also the opportunity to work closely with the Fostering Advisors in a mentoring capacity. It is a time of lots of development in the area of Fostering Recruitment and Retention, in which you will be able to have influence and input.

The Team deals with all the steps in relation to recruiting Foster Carers, such as marketing and events, as well as retention activity. The Team has a duty system in place and undertake Expressions of Interest, Initial Visits and Stage 1 & 2 Fostering Assessments, including presentation to the Fostering Panel. Experience in undertaking Form F Assessments already would be an advantage.

The Team is made up of 4 Fostering Advisors (unqualified), 3 Assessing Social Workers and one Team Manager. The ability to work well as part of a small team is essential.

This includes working hard to reduce caseloads, ensuring high-quality professional development and achieving the best possible standards of supervision and management. A new IT system is on its way and we’re rolling out, with very positive feedback, ‘mobile and agile’ working so you’re able to spend more of your time doing the job you love. An established career structure is in place and a new role of Advanced Practitioner has been created, both to support front line practitioners and to provide a career pathway for the very best social workers outside of management.

You must hold an HCPC recognised Social Work Qualification and be registered with the HCPC.
