We are looking for an Interim Team Manager to join our specialist team to cover maternity leave for 12 months.

Based in Malton and travelling throughout North Yorkshire when business need arises, you will have the opportunity to truly make a difference as you manage challenging cases and processes, complex information, in a fast changing environment, whilst maintaining the focus on individuals’ values, wishes and beliefs.

As Team Manager you will be responsible for the co-ordination, management and performance of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team who are based across the county. We can offer you the opportunity to develop your knowledge, experience and skills within a well-regarded team.

Reporting into the Care Services Manager, you will have the opportunity to receive professional support and supervision as well as training and development opportunities. The varied nature of our workload means that no two days are the same!

As Team Manager you will be hands-on as ensure the effective delivery of assessments, reviews and local resolutions meetings for people aged 16 or over, ordinarily resident to North Yorkshire, under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. Within this capacity you will source suitable assessors and allocate work to these in-house and external professionals.

We are looking for an inspiring manager who can manage the operational process for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards assessments, as well as managing the work, development of and quality assure the work of a range of assessment staff. Working with a range of partners including statutory and third sector partners, with individuals, their carers, advocacy services, and the Court of Protection.

You will further develop good practice around Mental Capacity Act principles, capacity assessment and best interests decision-making. We will give you the opportunity to manage operational processes around the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, including the allocation of work, through to the supervisory body sign off.

As a social work professional you will liaise with a range of assessment staff internally and externally, as well as independent and agency-based professionals, alongside individuals, their carers, advocates, care homes and hospitals.

Malton is a small market town, with good bus, train and road links – with easy A64 links with York and Scarborough.
