Group Manager – Children’s Social Care
Location: Based in Northallerton with travel across the county.
Salary: £48,000 to £55,840
We have an exciting development opportunity to be part of the scale and spread of North Yorkshire’s acclaimed No Wrong Door model into other local authorities. We are looking for the right individual who has high aspirations for themselves, those they work with and for young people. This is a great opportunity for a social work professional to join our highly-acclaimed service and truly make a difference.
Our No Wrong Door model is an innovative way of providing a responsive, resilient and flexible service to support young people who are within or on the edge of the care in a residential hub approach. No Wrong Door has been highly effective in creating safer and more stable homes for our most vulnerable children and our dedicated team work with the most complex young people in North Yorkshire to give them the best possible chance in life.
This is without doubt an exciting time to be part of No Wrong Door in this period of growth. The DfE has recently announced that it is investing significant funding into the Strengthening Families, Protecting Children programme over the next five years. North Yorkshire’s No Wrong Door is one of the three nationally recognised successful evidence based innovations, something we are incredibly proud of.
To progress this at pace we need to recruit a Group Manager to support all aspects of the planning, development, recruitment and delivery of No Wrong Door into these host authorities. As Group Manager you will be responsible for the strategic management of the No Wrong Door Service, a multi-agency partnership between the Local Authority, Police and Health. You will strategically manage financial resources and develop senior partnership arrangements within the service across a range of key agencies. In addition you will be the key link between the host local authorities, North Yorkshire, DfE and evaluating partners.
This role will require spending some periods of time based in host local authorities, in order to support the effective delivery of a full No Wrong Door model elsewhere. You will be part of a team that has high expectations, provides high support and be part of the next exciting stage in the development and delivery of the award winning No Wrong Door service.
In return for your hard work and dedication to this role, you can expect to receive ongoing support from the senior leadership team, a flexible working approach (including the ability to work from home) and access to our ‘Everybody Benefits’ package which includes various high-street retail discounts.
If you would like to find out more about this role we would welcome an informal conversation; please call Janice Nicholson on 01609535695 or email Janice.Nicholson@northyorks.gov.uk
We look forward to hearing from you!
