We are looking to appoint at Level 3 Social Worker or above (Grade 10-11).
This job is temporary for up to 12 months due to specific funding.
The Mental Health in Families Team is a long established team. The focus has been on working across children’s social care and adult mental health to reduce the barriers between services and enhance practice in order to improve direct work with families. The results from this have been positive and additional resources have now been put in place to roll this out on a wider and deeper scale.
You will coordinate appropriate early support for parents who have acute mental health difficulties and share information relevant to the welfare of their children, with a focus on managing risk, increasing resilience, building, strengthening and encouraging independence, reducing the long term need for services.
You will ensure there is a child focus from the team when working alongside mental health services.
You will ensure that practice is consistent and innovative and work with the Team Manager.
Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time. It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence and it is expected that you will either use a Council vehicle or your own car.
An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for this job. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
