The Quality and Advocacy Team has a key role in making sure that children and young people are safe, well, prosperous and connected. The Team are responsible for a range of services that provide effective and high quality representation including complaints, advice, information, safety/ prevention/support and specialist advocacy to children and young people. We have an exciting opportunity for a Children’s Advocate to work within a busy energetic team, committed to improving outcomes for the children and young people in North Lincolnshire.
We are looking for someone with experience in direct work with supporting/safeguarding children and young people and who possesses excellent communication and engagement skills. Experience of advocacy is essential to this post to ensure a quick start for a fixed term contract.
This is a dynamic, fast paced role also covering working with children and young people who go missing from home or care. The role also offers safety and prevention work with access to a wide range of tools and resources. The successful post holder will be responsible for offering a specialist advocacy service to children and young people. The post holder will also conduct independent return interviews with children and young people who have been reported missing within set timescales. The post holder will work flexibly and creatively in order to ensure a child led approach whilst also meeting timescales. They will work under the Children’s MARS arrangements with a range of other professionals including social workers, the police, the child Exploitation team, FaSST, DELTA, YOS, SENDIASS, education, PHASE and health.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong value base who has experience of direct work with children, young people and families, advocacy and has applied safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures. They will have knowledge of factors impacting upon and issues facing vulnerable children and young people and their families. The post holder have an excellent understanding of advocacy, be child led and will be committed to ensuring the voice of the child is heard.
