Our Mental Health Social Care Team at Sandpiper House are looking for an Approved Mental Health Professional to join them on a full time basis.
We are looking for an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) who will complete Mental Health Act assessments across the County of North Yorkshire. Your role will be to offer support in the community and hospital, with the focus on working together with service users’ to enhance their independence and quality of life. You will be expected to undertake safeguarding enquiries and investigations, training is available to support you with this. The work can be complex and challenging and you will be supported to manage this with regular supervision, training and opportunities to consult where necessary senior colleagues.
Supported by the Team Manager you will be located within our mental health social care team. The teams work to support people with mental health difficulties and their carers. This is a busy team and you’ll support your colleagues with MHA assessments across the locality as and when required. It will give you an excellent opportunity to flourish in a challenging yet stimulating work environment, demonstrating your expertise and ability to work in line with legislation, policies and guidelines
To join us, you will be a qualified AMHP with an appropriate qualification in a relevant discipline and a registered professional. With a broad knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice you will have the confidence to conduct complex assessments independently and to win the trust of carers, agencies and other contacts.
